<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />City Council Minutes 9-11-00 - Page 5 <br /> <br />AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE <br />WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE <br />HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Young to approve Ordinance 2000-2433 as <br />presented by Ms. Alexander. Second by Councilperson Gay. The motion carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: Sutherland, Ebow, Griffiths, Porter, Gay, Young, and Malone. <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: Engelken <br /> <br />13. Council considered awarding a bid of sections I and II to Carr's City Tire Service and <br />section III to A to Z Tire and Battery, low bidders meeting specifications in their <br />respective sections. <br /> <br />Assistant Director of Public Works Buddy Jacobs presented summary and <br />recommendation and answered Council's questions. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Young to award the bid as presented by Mr. Jacobs. <br />Second by Councilperson Griffiths. The motion carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Porter, Gay, Young, and Malone. <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br /> <br />14. Council considered appointing a voting and alternate voting Delegates to Cities Annual <br />congress of Business. <br /> <br />City Manager Robert T. Herrera presented summary and recommendation and answered <br />Council's questions. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Sutherland to appoint Deotis Gav as voting Delegate <br />and Jerry Clarke as alternate voting Delegate to Cities Annual congress of Business <br />presented by Mr. Herrera. Second by Councilperson Engelken. The motion carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Porter, Gay, Young, and Malone. <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br /> <br />15. The special called workshop meeting was called to order by Mayor Malone at 6:55 PM. <br /> <br />Council received a report from the Director of Parks and Recreation Stephen Barr on <br />rates and hours available for rental of recreational facilities. <br /> <br />16. Workshop adjourned and the regular meeting re-convened at 7: 10 PM. <br /> <br />17. Council considered approving an ordinance amending the rates and hours available for <br />rental of city recreational facilities under control ofthe Parks and Recreation Department. <br />
