<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />City Council Minutes - October 9,2000 - Page 3 <br /> <br />Harris County, Texas - to PUD, with a Special Conditional Use Permit attached, for the <br />development of Phase One (16.02 acres) of a Multi-Family Development to be known as <br />Park Forest Apartments. <br /> <br />City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1501-LL - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE <br />CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, CHAPTER 106, MORE <br />COMMONL Y REFERRED TO AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF <br />LA PORTE, BY CHANGING THE ZONING CLASSIFICATION OF THAT CERTAIN <br />PARCEL OF LAND DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS, TO WIT: TRS 8A, 5Fl, & 49 A OF <br />THE W.P. HARRIS SURVEY, ABSTRACT 30, LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, <br />TEXAS - TO PUD, WITH A SPECIAL CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT A TT ACHED, <br />FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF PHASE ONE (16.02 ACRES) OF A MULTI-FAMILY <br />DEVELOPMENT, TO BE KNOWN AS PARK FOREST APARTMENTS; MAKING <br />CERTAIN FINDINGS OF FACT RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING <br />COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Counciloerson Ebow to approve Ordinance 1501-LL as presented <br />by Mr. Kneupper. Second by Councilperson Griffiths. The motion carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Porter, Gay, Young, Clarke, and Malone. <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br /> <br />9. Council considered approving ordinances authorizing a contract between the City of La <br />Porte and BFI Waste Systems of North America, Inc., for collection and disposal of <br />commercial solid waste. <br /> <br />Director of Public Works Steve Gillett presented summary and recommendation and <br />answered Council's questions. <br /> <br />City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 2000-2439 - AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND <br />AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND BFI <br />WASTE SYSTEMS OF NORTH AMERICA, INC., FOR THE COLLECTION AND <br />DISPOSAL OF COMMERCIAL SOLID WASTE; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS <br />AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE <br />WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE <br />DA TE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Engelken to approve Ordinances 2000-2439 <br />presented bv Mr. Gillett. Second by Councilperson Gay. The motion carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Porter, Gay, Young, Clarke, and Malone. <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None. <br />
