Recommendation of Staff — as recommended by the Planning and Zoning Commission, staff recommends approval of the Special Conditional Use Permit. Council considered approving an ordinance amending the Code of Ordinances of the City of La Porte, Chapter 106, more commonly referred to as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of La Porte, by granting a Special Conditional Use Permit for that certain parcel of land described as follows: To Wit: Lots 1 through 8 and the adjoining west one-half of the alley of Block 681, J. Hunter Survey 1-35 for the purpose of operating a fuel quality testing business and storing a limited quantity of petroleum services products within a Light Industrial Zone (Ord. 1501-MM). Mayor read: ORDINANCE 1501-MM — AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, CHAPTER 106, MORE COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, BY GRANTING A SPECIAL CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR THAT CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: TO WIT: LOTS 1 THROUGH 8 AND THE ADJOINING WEST ONE-HALF OF THE ALLEY OF BLOCK 681, J. HUNTER SURVEY 1-35 FOR THE PURPOSE OF OPERATING A FUEL QUALITY TESTING BUSINESS AND STORING A LIMITED QUANTITY OF PETROLEUM SERVICES PRODUCTS WITHIN A LIGHT INDUSTRIAL ZONE. Motion was made by Councilperson Clarke to approve Ordinance 1501-NM as read by the Mayor. Second by Councilperson Engelken. The motion carried.
