• <br />Comprehensive Plan Update <br />2000-2020 <br />October 16, 2000 City Council <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />consider creating a large lot residential zoning district and provide the <br />associated regulations. <br />On March 16, 2000 the Commission reviewed two more Chapters: <br />~. Transportation <br />6. Utility Systems <br />During review of Chapter 5, Transportation, the Commission heard <br />testimony from City staff members Joe Sense, Richard Red Steve Gillett, <br />and LPISD staff member 11ti1ce Clausen. After discussion, the Commission <br />recommended m include as part of Figure 5.3, La Porte Thoroughfare Plan, <br />the extension of Farrington to rTorth "Il" Street. The Commission did not <br />recommend the extension of Farrington beyond `~i" Street. In addition, the <br />Commission discussed the extension of Valleyview between "IT' and `~." <br />Streets as another north bo south connector. <br />The Commission did not recommend any changes or additions to Chapter fi, ~ <br />Utility Infi~as>zucture System. <br />4n Apc~113, 2000 the Commission reviewed: <br />7. Parks and Recreation <br />8, Community Facilities and Services <br />9. Residential Development . <br />I0. Beautification and Conservation <br />The Comnssion did nat recommend any changes or additions to Chapter 7, <br />Parks and Recreation <br />For Chapter S, Community Facilities and Services, the Commission <br />recommended the Unified Crime Report prepared by the Police Dept be <br />included. <br />The Commission did not recommend nay changes or additions to Chapter 9, <br />Residential laevelopmeut or Chapter 10, Beautification and Conservation. <br />C+n .May 24, 2000 the Commission finalized their review of the <br />Comprehensive Plan by reviewing Chapters <br />11. Public Safety <br />12. Redevelopmen Sh~ategy <br />13. Implementation <br />The Commission did not recommend any changes or additions to Cfiapter <br />1I, Public safety, Chapter 12, Redevelopment Strategy, or Chapter 13, <br />Implementation. The Commission did however request that staff prepare a <br />report that would identify projects from the 1984 Comprehensive Plan that <br />had been completed as well as projects that carried over from the 1984 Plan. <br />
