Council considered an ordinance approving and authorizing a contract between <br />the City of La Porte and R.T.G. Building Company for construction of City Hall <br />expansion/renovations; appropriating $1,644,375.00 plus a contingency of <br />$82,219.00 to fund said contract (Ord. 2001-2469). <br /> <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 2001-2469 - AN ORDINANCE <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY <br />OF LA PORTE AND R.T.G. BUIDLING COMPANY FOR CONSTRUCTION <br />OF CITY HALL EXP ANSION/RENOV A TIONS; APPROPRIATING <br />$1,644,375.00 PLUS A CONTINGENCY OF $82,219.00 TO FUND SAID <br />CONTRACT; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS <br />RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN <br />MEETINGS LAW; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Sutherland to adopt Ordinance 2001-2469 as <br />read by the City Attorney. Second by Councilperson Griffiths. Council considered an Ordinance authorizing the execution and delivery of a <br />Drainage easement dedication from the City of La Porte to the public (Ord. 2001- <br />2470). <br /> <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 2001-2470 - AN ORDINANCE <br />AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION AND DELIVERY OF A DRAINAGE <br />EASEMENT DEDICATION FROM THE CITY OF LA PORTE TO THE <br />PUBLIC; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING <br />TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS <br />LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Young to adopt Ordinance 2001-2470 as <br />read by the City Attorney. Second by Councilperson Engelken. The motion <br />carried. <br />
