<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Council Minutes 7-23-01- Page 3 <br /> <br />Assistant City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 2001-2499 - AN ORDINANCE <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE RENEWAL OF A LAW ENFORCEMENT <br />SERVICES AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND THE LA <br />PORTE INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT, MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND <br />PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE <br />OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Engelken to approve Ordinances 2001-2499 <br />presented by ChiefReff. Second by Councilperson Ebow. The motion carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Porter, Warren, Young, Clarke, and Malone. <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None. <br /> <br />9. Council considered approving an ordinance approving to vacate, abandon, and close the <br />alleys in Blocks 328 & 329, and North 2nd Street Right-of-Way, and to also authorize <br />execution of a Street & Alley Closing Agreement with the applicant. <br /> <br />Planning Director Doug Kneupper presented summary and recommendation and <br />answered Council's questions. <br /> <br />Assistant City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 2001-2500 - AN ORDINANCE <br />VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING THE ALLEYS IN BLOCKS 328 AND <br />329, TOWN OF LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS, AND A PORTION OF THE <br />RIGHT -OF-WAY OF NORTH 2ND STREET, TOWN OF LA PORTE, HARRIS <br />COUNTY TEXAS, FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; <br />AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Warren to table item until next meeting as presented <br />by Mr. Kneupper.
