Council considered approving Ordinances 2001-2511(A-G): Assistant City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 2001-2511-A-G - ORDINANCES DECLARING THE BUILDINGS LOCATED ON LOT(S) SPECIFIED IN EACH ORDINANCE CAPTION; ADDITION Town of La Porte, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS, TO BE IN FACT A NUISANCE; ORDERING SUCH BUILDING CONDEMNED; FINDING THAT NAMES SPECIFIED IN EACH ORDINANCE ARE THE RECORD OWNER(S) OF SAID PROPERTY; ORDERING THE SAID OWNER(S) TO ENTIRELY REMOVE OR TEAR DOWN SUCH BUILDING; ORDERING THE SAID OWNER(S) TO COMMENCE SAID REMOVAL OR DEMOLITION WITHIN (10) DAYS FROM THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE; ORDERING THE BOARD OF INSPECTION TO PLACE A NOTICE ON SAID BUILDING; ORDERING THE CITY SECRETARY TO FORWARD A COPY OF THIS ORDINANCE TO SAID OWNER(S); PROVIDING FOR THE REMOVAL OF SAID PREMISES BY THE CITY OF LA PORTE IF NOT REMOVED BY SAID OWNER(S) IN THE MANNER PROVIDED HEREIN; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF; AND FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW. Motion was made by Councilperson Porter to approve Ordinances 200 1-2511( A-G) as presented by Ms. Wilmore and allowing the three persons the requested additional three months and place them at the end of the demolition list. Second by Councilperson Griffiths. The motion carried. Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Porter, Warren, Young, Clarke, and Malone. Nays: None Abstain: None 8. Council considered approving or other action regarding a Resolution 2001-10 authorizing representative and alternate for the H-GAC 2001 General Assembly and Board of Directors. Mayor Norman Malone presented summary and recommendation and answered Council's questions. A RESOLUTION 2001-10 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, DESIGNATING AS THE REPRESENTATIVE AND AL TERNA TE OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE HOUSTON-GALVESTON AREA COUNCIL FOR THE YEAR 2002 BE COUNCILMAN GUY SUTHERLAND, WITH AL TERNA TE BEING JERRY CLARKE. Motion was made by Councilperson Porter to appoint Sutherland as the Representative and Clarke as the Alternate and to approve Resolution 2001-10 as presented by Mayor Malone. Second by Councilperson Engelken. The motion carried.
