Council considered or other action regarding an ordinance approving and authorizing a <br />contract between the City of La Porte and Hugh L. Landrum & Associates, Inc., for <br />appraisal and other services for properties located in the city's industrial districts; <br />appropriating $46,170 annually to fund said contract for calendar years 2002, 2003 and <br />2004 and each year thereafter until said contract is terminated as provided for therein <br />(Ord.2001-2524). <br /> <br />Assistant Finance Director Michael Dolby presented summary and recommendation and <br />answered Council's questions. <br /> <br />City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 2001-2524 - AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND <br />AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND HUGH <br />L. LANDRUM & ASSOCIATES, INC., FOR APPRAISAL AND OTHER SERVICES <br />FOR PROPERTIES LOCATED IN THE CITY'S INDUSTRIAL DISTRICTS; <br />APPROPRIATING $46, 170 ANNUALLY TO FUND SAID CONTRACT FOR <br />CALENDAR YEARS 2002, 2003, AND 2004 AND EACH YEAR THEREAFTER <br />UNTIL SAID CONTRACT IS TERMINATED AS PROVIDED FOR THEREIN; <br />MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE <br />SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Clarke to approve Ordinance 2001-2524 as <br />presented by Mr. Dolby. Second by Councilperson Engelken. The motion carried. <br /> <br />Ay~s: Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Porter, Warren, Young, Clarke, and <br />Malone. <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br /> <br />15. Receive report on Habitat for Humanity proposed building sites and provide staff with <br />direction. Council would like to have an audit conducted, and a formal disposition made. <br /> <br />16. Consider awarding bid to A-Tex Equipment and Wowco Equipment for heavy <br />equipment. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Steve Gillett presented summary and recommendation to award <br />bid for Heavy Equipment to A-Tex Equipment and Wowco Equipment. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Engelken to award bid as presented bv Mr. Gillett. <br />Second by Councilperson Clarke. The motion carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Porter, Warren, Young, Clarke, and <br />Malone. <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br />
