Call to Order <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Norman Malone at 6:00 p.m. <br />Members of Citv Council Present: Councilpersons Chuck Engelken, Howard Ebow, <br />Alton Porter, Barry Beasley, Peter Griffiths, James Warren, Charlie Young, Mike Mosteit, <br />Bruce Meismer and Norman Malone <br />Members of Council Absent: None <br />Members of City Executive Staff and City Employees Present: City Manager Robert T <br />Herrera, City Attorney Knox Askins, City Secretary Martha Gillett, Assistant City <br />Secretary Sharon Harris. Assistant to City Manager Crystal Scott, Director of <br />Administrative Services Carol Buttler, Director of Parks and Recreation Stephen Barr, <br />Golf Course Manager Alex Osmond, Firc Marshal Paul Hickenbottom, Director of <br />Purchasing Susan Kelley, Director of Finance Cynthia Alexander, Police Chief Richard <br />Reff, Assistant Fire Chief Champ Dunham, and Director of Planning Doug Kneupper. <br />Others Present: Doug Ashley, Louis Rigby, Spero Pomonis, Les Bird, Nazar Momin, <br />Brenda Potter, Terri Beasley, Marie Meek, Sib Carpenter, Mr. Waters, and Colleen Hicks. <br />Mayor Norman Malone delivered the invocation. <br />3. Mayor Norman Malone led in the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Council considered approving the Minutes of the Special Called Regular Meeting on May <br />20, 2002. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Engelken to approve the Minutes of the Special <br />Called Rc~ular Meetin og n May 20. 2002. Second by Councilperson Griffiths. The <br />motion carried. <br />Ayes: Engelken, Griffiths, Warren, Young, Mosteit, Meismer, Ebow, Porter, and Malone <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br />5. PRESENTATION <br />The presentation for the Employee of the 1 s` Quarter of 2002 did not take place at this <br />Council Meeting due to scheduling conflicts; to be rescheduled at a later date. <br />Mayor Norman Malone presented Track Star Kerron Clement with a proclamation in <br />honor of "Kerron Clement Day" for recognition of outstanding track qualifications. <br />Mayor Norman Malone presented Council Members Porter, Sutherland and Clarke each <br />with a proclamation and plaque in honor of their loyal and outstanding years of service to <br />the City of La Porte. <br />
