Call to Order The meeting was called to order by Mayor Norman Malone at 6:00 p.m. Members of Citv Council Present: Councilpersons Chuck Engelken, Howard Ebow, Alton Porter, Barry Beasley, Peter Griffiths, James Warren, Charlie Young, Mike Mosteit, Bruce Meismer and Norman Malone Members of Council Absent: None Members of City Executive Staff and City Employees Present: City Manager Robert T Herrera, City Attorney Knox Askins, City Secretary Martha Gillett, Assistant City Secretary Sharon Harris. Assistant to City Manager Crystal Scott, Director of Administrative Services Carol Buttler, Director of Parks and Recreation Stephen Barr, Golf Course Manager Alex Osmond, Firc Marshal Paul Hickenbottom, Director of Purchasing Susan Kelley, Director of Finance Cynthia Alexander, Police Chief Richard Reff, Assistant Fire Chief Champ Dunham, and Director of Planning Doug Kneupper. Others Present: Doug Ashley, Louis Rigby, Spero Pomonis, Les Bird, Nazar Momin, Brenda Potter, Terri Beasley, Marie Meek, Sib Carpenter, Mr. Waters, and Colleen Hicks. Mayor Norman Malone delivered the invocation. 3. Mayor Norman Malone led in the Pledge of Allegiance. Council considered approving the Minutes of the Special Called Regular Meeting on May 20, 2002. Motion was made by Councilperson Engelken to approve the Minutes of the Special Called Rc~ular Meetin og n May 20. 2002. Second by Councilperson Griffiths. The motion carried. Ayes: Engelken, Griffiths, Warren, Young, Mosteit, Meismer, Ebow, Porter, and Malone Nays: None Abstain: None 5. PRESENTATION The presentation for the Employee of the 1 s` Quarter of 2002 did not take place at this Council Meeting due to scheduling conflicts; to be rescheduled at a later date. Mayor Norman Malone presented Track Star Kerron Clement with a proclamation in honor of "Kerron Clement Day" for recognition of outstanding track qualifications. Mayor Norman Malone presented Council Members Porter, Sutherland and Clarke each with a proclamation and plaque in honor of their loyal and outstanding years of service to the City of La Porte.
