Council to consider approval or other action of an ordinance authorizing the City Manager to <br />execute an Agreement for Professional Services with Huitt-Zollars, Inc. for design and <br />monitoring of the installation of a prefabricated steel pedestrian bridge over Little Cedar <br />Bayou, to be funded by Harris County per its agreement with the City of La Porte, approved <br />by Council on October 14, 2002. <br />Director of Parks and Recreation Stephen Barr presented summary and recommendation and <br />answered Council's questions. <br />Assistant City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 2002-2602 - AN ORDINANCE <br />AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT <br />BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND HUITT-ZOLLARS, INC. FOR DESIGN <br />AND OTHER RELATED COMPONENTS FOR INSTALLATION OF A <br />PREFABRICATED STEEL PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE OVER LITTLE CEDAR BAYOU; <br />MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; <br />FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilmember Meismer to approve the ordinance as presented byMr. <br />Barr. Council to consider approval or other action of ordaining an ordinance to establish a <br />Community Service Program for the City of La Porte. <br />Assistant City Attorney John Armstrong and Acting City Manager John Joerns presented <br />summary and recommendation and answered Council's questions. <br />Assistant City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 2002-2603 - AN ORDINANCE <br />ESTABLISHING A COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAM FOR THE CITY OF LA <br />PORTE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilmember Mosteit to approve the ordinance as presented bX <br />Messrs Armstrong and Joems. Second by Councilmember Engelken. The motion carried. <br />
