Second by Councilmember Ebow. The motion carried. <br />Ayes: Mosteit, Ebow, Engelken, Beasley, Warren, Meismer and Malone <br />Nays: Young and Griffiths <br />Abstain: None <br />9. Council to consider approval or other action of a Resolution authorizing the acquisition of <br />right-of-way for the construction of Canada Road. <br />City Attorney read: RESOLUTION 2003-01 — A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE <br />ACQUISITION OF RIGHTS -OF -WAY FOR ROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY PURPOSES, FOR <br />THE WIDENING AND IMPROVEMENT OF CANADA ROAD FROM SPENCER <br />HIGHWAY TO FAIRMONT PARKWAY; CONTAINING A REPEALING CLAUSE; <br />FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilmember Engelken to approve Resolution 2003-01 as presented <br />by Mr. Kneupper. Second by Councilmember Griffiths. The motion carried. <br />Ayes: Mosteit, Ebow, Engelken, Griffiths, Beasley, Warren, Young, Meismer and Malone <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br />10. Council to consider approval or other action of a Resolution to participate in the Violence <br />Against Women's Act Grant, made possible through the Office of the Governor, Criminal <br />Justice Division, for the funding of the Victims' Assistance Liaison position. <br />Police Chief Richard Reff presented summary and recommendation and answered Council's <br />questions. <br />The City Attorney acknowledged the Resolution, but did not read the caption. <br />Motion was made by Councilmember Engelken to approve Resolution 2003-02 as presented <br />by Mr. Reff. Council to consider approval or other action of two ordinances: an ordinance authorizing an <br />Industrial District Agreement with Jacobson Warehouse, Inc. and an ordinance executing a <br />Water Service Agreement with Jacobson Warehouse, Inc. <br />Director of Planning Doug Kneupper presented summary and recommendation and <br />answered Council's questions. <br />
