The Regular Meeting closed and the Workshop Meeting opened at 7:12 p.m. <br /> <br />Engineering Technician Supervisor Brian Sterling provided Staff and Council with a report regarding recent <br />concerns from area residents regarding insufficient street lighting along specific roadways in town. <br /> <br />Council directed staff to move forward. <br /> <br />The Workshop closed and the Regular Meeting reconvened at 7:22 p.m. <br /> <br />15. Audit Committee Chairman Chuck Engelken provided Staff and Council with a report. <br /> <br />Chairman Engelken informed City Council that the item on Proposition 13 and City Council travel had been <br />tabled due to Councilmembers wanting to attend the meeting and not being present. He also noted there was <br />not enough time to discuss all three items in such a short time prior to the City Council Meeting. He further <br />noted the committee received a report from staff and the City's Auditing firm. He noted they made some <br />suggestions on reportable conditions and encouraged City Council to read the report. He advised Council due <br />to the change in the accounting world today, the audit reflected changes not suggested in previous years. <br /> <br />16. ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS <br /> <br />City Manager Debra Feazelle reminded Council and Staff of the Texas Municipal League 14 Spring Meeting <br />on Thursday, April 1, 2004, at the Hilton Houston Westchase and Towers at 6:30 p.m.; Meet the Candidates <br />on Monday, April 5, 2004, at City Hall Council Chambers at 6:30 p.m.; Planning Department's Public <br />Outreach Meeting on Wednesday, April 7, 2004, at 5:30 p.m.; a Reception honoring International Consular <br />Corps of Houston on Monday, April 19, 2004, at San Jacinto Monument from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.; and <br />Introduction of Human Resources Manager Sherri Davis-Sampson. She noted the upcoming Sylvan Beach <br />Festival to be held April 24, 2004. In addition, she reminded Council of the Planning Outreach meeting to be <br />held on April 6, 2004. <br /> <br />17. COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilmembers Engelken, Griffiths, Beasley, Ebow, Meismer, Young and Mosteit had comments. <br /> <br />18. EXECUTIVE SESSION - PURSUANT TO PROVISION OF THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW, <br />CHAPTER 551.071 THROUGH 551.076, 551.086, TEXAS GOVERNMENT CODE, <br />(CONSULTATION WITH ATTORNEY, DELIBERATION REGARDING REAL PROPERTY, <br />DELIBERATION REGARDING PROSPECTIVE GIFT OR DONATION, PERSONNEL MATTERS, <br />DELIBERATION REGARDING SECURITY DEVICES, OR EXCLUDING A WITNESS DURING <br />EXAMINATION OF ANOTHER WITNESS IN AN INVESTIGATION, DELIBERATION <br />REGARDING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT NEGOTIATIONS. <br /> <br />551.071 - (Pending Litigation) - Meeting with City Manager and City Attorney to discuss pending litigation. <br /> <br />551.074 - (Personnel Matter) - City Manager Evaluation <br /> <br />551.087 - (Economic Development) - Meet with City Manager and City Attorney to discuss Economic <br />Development matter. <br /> <br />Council retired to Executive Session at 7:38 p.m. and the Regular Meeting reconvened at 10:35 p.m. <br />
