Council to consider approval or other action regarding an ordinance appointing Human Resources <br />Manager Sherri Sampson as a member to the City of La Porte Chapter 172 Board of Trustees in <br />accordance with Section 172 of the Local Government Code. <br /> <br />Motion was made bv Councilmember Engelken to approve the Consent Agenda as presented. <br />Second by Councilmember Young. The motion carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: Engelken, Beasley, Griffiths, Meismer, Mosteit, Young and Ebow <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br /> <br />6. PETITIONS, REMONSTRANCES, COMMUNICATIONS, AND CITIZENS AND <br />TAX PAYERS WISHING TO ADDRESS COUNCIL ON ANY ITEM POSTED ON THE <br />AGENDA <br /> <br />Bill Scott of 1802 Lomax School Road spoke on the City's Board of Adjustments "so called" finding of facts, <br />there are 24 numbered statements; Mr. Scott stated that 21 of the statements are false. Mr. Scott showed <br />photos of feedlot and the legal limit of animals. Mr. Scott will publicly expose more lies of violations and <br />deceptions. Mr. Scott questioned when Council will answer his questions. <br /> <br />7. Council to consider approval or other action regarding ajoint resolution by the City Council of Pasadena and <br />the City Council of La Porte, authorizing further investigation of a joint venture between the cities for a Youth <br />Sports Complex and for a connecting north-south roadway between Genoa-Red Bluff Road in Pasadena, and <br />Canada Road (East Boulevard) in La Porte. <br /> <br />Parks and Recreation Director Stephen Barr presented summary and recommendation and answered Council's <br />questions. <br /> <br />Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins read: RESOLUTION 2004-09 - A JOINT RESOLUTION BY THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF PASADENA AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF LA PORTE, AUTHORIZING <br />FURTHER INVESTIGATION OF A JOINT VENTURE BETWEEN THE CITIES FOR A YOUTH SPORTS <br />COMPLEX AND FOR A CONNECTING NORTH-SOUTH ROADWAY BETWEEN GENOA-RED BLUFF <br />ROAD IN PASADENA, AND CANADA ROAD (EAST BOULEVARD) IN LA PORTE. <br /> <br />Motion was made bv Councilmember Engelken to approve Resolution 2004-09 as presented by Mr. Stephen <br />Barr. Second by Councilmember Beasley. The motion carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: Engelken, Beasley, Griffiths, Meismer, Mosteit, Young and Ebow <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br /> <br />8. Council to consider approval or other action regarding an ordinance authorizing the City Manger to execute a <br />reimbursement agreement with Exxon Mobil Pipeline Company for $197,493.00. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Steve Gillett presented summary and recommendation and answered Council's <br />questions. <br /> <br />Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins read: ORDINANCE 2004-2713 - AN ORDINANCE APPROVING <br />AND AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND EXXONMOBIL <br />PIPELINE COMPANY, TO PROVIDE PIPELINE ADJUSTMENTS FOR THE CANADA ROAD <br />PROJECT; APPROPRIATING THE SUM NOT TO EXCEED $197,493.00, TO FUND SAID CONTRACT, <br />MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING <br />COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE <br />HEREOF. <br />
