Council to consider passing ordinances for denial by P&Z for 4.00 acres ofland located at 2619 Underwood <br />Road. The applicants, Lloyd and Linda Duncan, seek SCUP for developing a mini-storage/warehousing in a <br />General Commercial Zone. <br /> <br />Planning Director Nick Finan presented summary and recommendation and answered Council's questions. <br /> <br />Assistant City Attorney John Armstrong read: ORDINANCE 1501MMM - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, CHAPTER 106, MORE COMMONLY <br />REFERRED TO AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, BY GRANTING A <br />SPECIAL CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR THAT AT 2619 UNDERWOOD ROAD, BEING LOT 10, <br />BLOCK 2, OF THE W.J. PAYNE SUBDIVISION, LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS, FOR THE <br />PURPOSE OF DEVELOPING A MINI STORAGE AND WAREHOUSING IN A GENERAL <br />COMMERCIAL (GC) ZONE; MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS OF FACT RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; <br />FINDING COMLPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made bv Councilmember Beaslev to approve the recommendation of the Planninl! and Zoninl! to <br />deny aporoval of Ordinance 1501-MMM as recommended bv the Planninl! and Zoning Commission. Second <br />by Councilmember Meismer. The motion carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: Engelken, Beasley, Griffiths, Mosteit, Young, Ebow and Meismer <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br /> <br />9. Open Public Hearing - Mayor Pro Tern Griffiths opened the Public Hearing at 7:05 p.m. <br /> <br />Council to consider taking action on recommendation for approval by P&Z for 1.5 acres ofland located in the <br />1600 block of Underwood Road.
