Per the terms of the <br />contract, BFI is entitled to an annual rate increase, based on the .April Consumer Price Index <br />(CPI), with a maximum annual increase not to exceed five percent (5%). Attached is a letter <br />from BFI requesting a (2.3%) increase. The CPI increase from April 2003 to April 2004 was <br />2.3%. The last rate increase (2.61%) was approved in July 2003. <br />The proposed increase will result in adjusted rates, as shown on the attached rate sheet, and will <br />go into effect on November 1, 2004. It should be noted that the Contractor bills commercial <br />customers directly.
