<br />City Council Regular Meeting, pUbe:earing and Workshop Meeting - July 12, . - Page 2 <br /> <br />Interim Planning Director Nick Finan provided a summary of Special Conditional Use Permit for 2.14 acres, <br />allowing expansion to existing La Porte Self Storage. <br /> <br />Public Input: There were no citizens wishing to provide input. <br /> <br />Planning and Zoning Recommendation - the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approving the <br />request. <br /> <br />Public Hearing was closed at 6: 10 p.m. <br /> <br />8. Council to consider taking action on an Ordinance for a Special Conditional Use Permit for 2.14 acres, <br />allowing expansion to existing La Porte Self Storage located at 2915 North 23rd Street as requested by Mr. <br />William Thomas. <br /> <br />Interim Planning Director Nick Finan presented summary and recommendation and answered Council's <br />questions. <br /> <br />Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins read: ORDINANCE 1501-SSS FOR SCU04-008 - AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, CHAPTER 106, MORE <br />COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF CITY OF LA PORTE, BY <br />GRANTING A SPECIAL CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR THAT CERT AIN PARCEL OF LAND <br />DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS, TO WIT: 2.14 ACRES, PART OF THE RICHARD PEARSALL 1/3 <br />LEAGUE, ABSTRACT 625, LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS, FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br />EXPANDING A MINI-STORAGE AND WAREHOUSING MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS OF FACT <br />RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Council member Engelken to approve Ordinance 150 I-SSS and SCU04-008 as presented <br />by Mr. Finan. Second by Councilmember Moser. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: Mosteit, Engelken, Ebow, Moser, Rigby and Griffiths <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br /> <br />9. Open Public Hearing - Mayor Pro Tempore Griffiths opened the Public Hearing at 6: 11 p.m. <br /> <br />Interim Planning Director Nick Finan provided a summary of action on an ordinance for 4.9 acres of land <br />located along Caniff Road to rezone the property <br /> <br />Public Input: There were no citizens wishing to provide input. <br /> <br />Planning and Zoning Recommendation - the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval. <br /> <br />Public Hearing was closed at 6: 17 p.m. <br /> <br />10. Council to consider taking action on an Ordinance for 4.9 acres of land located along Caniff Road to rezone <br />the property from R-l to R-2 for proposed expansion ofthe church's parking lot at 9601 W. Fairmont Parkway <br />as requested by First United Methodist Church. <br /> <br />Interim Planning Director Nick Finan presented summary and recommendation and answered Council's <br />questions. <br /> <br />Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins read: ORDINANCE 1501- TTT AND R04-006 - AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, CHAPTER 106, MORE <br />COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, BY <br />CHANGING THE ZONING CLASSIFICATION FROM LOW DENSITY RESIDENTIAL TO MEDIUM <br />
