City Council Regular Meeting, pU.Hearing and Workshop Meeting - septem.13, 2004 - Page 6 will telephone Paul Larson regarding replacement, Chester Pool and Horace Leopard regarding serving another term, and Harris County, Chapter 172 Board ofTI11stees will add Insurance Board to the title ofthe Board, City Secretary Martha Gillett will check with the City Attorney regarding a new name, Mayor Alton Porter will follow-up on this Board. The City of La Porte Audit Committee Member Councilmember Peter Griffiths resigned as an alternate member. Councilmember Barry Beasley replaced the open position that the late Councilmember James Warren held, Councilmember Chuck Engelken and Councilmember Howard Ebow continue as members on the Committee, Councilmember Louis Rigby will serve as Alternate Member 1 and Councilmember Tommy Moser will serve as Alternate Member 2, The City of La Porte Municipal Judges and Alternate Judges appointments had no changes. The Civil Service Commission has some pending questions. The Director of.this Commission will be appointed by the Commission, not by the City Manager. Staff to bring back, one opinion has been issued by the Legal Department. The Fire Code Review Committee will be contacted by each Councilmember contacting their District Representative. There may be a question regarding District 6 Member Emery Farkas, City Secretary to ask Fire Marshal Laurie Christensen how often this Committee will meet regarding fire codes. The Harris County Appraisal District Representative will continue to be Mr. Bill Harry, The HGAC Representatives will be City Representative Councilmember Chuck Engelken and Alternate Representative Councilmember Barry Beasley, replacing Councilmember Peter Griffiths. Confirmation is needed as to who appoints members to the La Porte Area Water Authority. Authority members Chester Pool's and Paul Berner's terms expired, The La Porte Development Corporation Committee Member Bruce Meismer will be replaced by Councilmember Mike Clausen and Committee Member Peter Griffiths will be replaced by Councilmember Tommy Moser, Mayor Alton Porter will confirm if Committee Members Bill Love and Pat Muston are willing to serve another term The La Porte Health Authority (there wasn't a notation on this item) The City of La Porte Development Authority is the same Authority as TIRZ, The Main Street District Committee (there wasn't a notation on this item) The Mayor's Advisory Committee (there wasn't a notation on this item) The Planning and Zoning District 4 Commission Member Dottie Kaminski will continue in her position; as will District 5 Commission Member Paul Berner, with District 6 Member being suggested by Councilmember Mike Clausen and Hal Lawler as Alternate Member at a future meeting. Mayor Alton Porter to call members and candidates, The Southeast Texas Housing Finance Corporation Board had no revisions. The Texas Municipal League delegates will be reviewed. The Zoning Board of Adjustment Alternate 1 Member Barbara Norwine will be replaced with Mr. Lawrence McNeal. Mr, Bernard Legrand is expiring as Alternate 2 Member, City Secretary will contact Mrs. Norwine. Councilmember Rigby will make a suggestion for a member at the next meeting.
