Council to consider approval of an ordinance authorizing the City Manager to execute an <br />agreement with Freese & Nichols, Inc. to provide professional engineering services for <br />waterline replacement and sewer main rehabilitation in the amount of $45,000.00. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Steve Gillett presented summary and recommendation and answered <br />'Council's questions. <br /> <br />City Attorney Clark Askins read: ORDINANCE 2785 - AN ORDINANCE APPROVING <br />AND AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND <br />FREESE AND NICHOLS, INC., TO PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING <br />SERVICES FOR THE BA YSHORE DRIVE WATER AND SEWER REPLACEMENT <br />PROJECT; APPROPRIATING THE SUM NOT TO EXCEED $45,000.00. TO FUND SAID <br />CONTRACT; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE <br />SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />D. Council to consider approval of an ordinance authorizing the City Manager to execute a <br />Professional Service Agreement with PBS&J to perform a Preliminary Engineering Report <br />for the Little Cedar Bayou Wastewater Treatment Plant, the sum not to exceed $99,125.00. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Steve Gillett presented summary and recommendation and answered <br />Council's questions. <br /> <br />Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins read: ORDINANCE 2004-2786 - AN ORDINANCE <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA <br />PORTE AND PBS&J, INC. To.PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES <br />TO PREPARE A PRELIMINARY ENGINEERING REPORT FOR PHASE II <br />IMPROVEMENTS AT THE LITTLE CEDAR BAYOU W ASTEW A TER TREATMENT <br />PLANT; APROPRIATING THE SUM NOT TO EXCEED $99,125.00, TO FUND SAID <br />CONTRACT; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE <br />SUBJECT; FINPING COMPLI~CE WITH THE OPEN MEETING LAW, AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />E. Council to consider instructing the Assistant City Manager to amend the various operating <br />, budgets for outstanding purchase orders: This is a routine annual transaction to validate open <br />purchase orders. <br /> <br />Motion was made bv Councilmember Griffiths to annrove the Consent AlZenda as nresented. <br />Second by Councilmember Moser. <br /> <br />Councilmember Beasley questioned Items B, C and D. Public Works Director Steve Gillett <br />provided the information for Cotmcilmember Beasley. <br /> <br />Ayes: Beasley, Engelken, Moser, Mosteit, Rigby, Clausen, Porter and Griffiths <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: Councilmember Ebow abstained from voting on the minutes <br />
