Council to consider a contract to replace City Hall AlC Chill Water Piping in the amount of <br />$27,353.00 and establish a construction contingency in the amount of $2,747.00 for a total of <br />$30,100.00. <br /> <br />F. Council to consider adopting and endorsing the resolution accepting Keep Texas Beautiful, <br />Inc. program, and also recommend the endorsement of city staff for the Keep La Porte <br />Beautiful organizational structure. <br /> <br />G. Council to consider approval of an ordinance authorizing the City Manager to execute a <br />contract with the Port of Houston Authority for the City of La Porte EMS Division. <br /> <br />H. Council to consider approval and authorizing an agreement between the City of La Porte and <br />Port of Houston Authority for secondary fire suppression services. <br /> <br />1. Council to consider approval and authorizing the City of La Porte participation in an <br />agreement to continue provision of the Senior Meals Program for La Porte, through Valley <br />Foods and the City of Houston-Harris County Area Agency on Aging. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilmember Engelken to approve the Consent Agenda all at once as <br />presented. Second by Councilmember Beasley. <br /> <br />Ayes: Beasley, Engelken, Moser, Mosteit, Clausen, Porter, Ebow and Griffiths <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br /> <br />6. PETITIONS, REMONSTRANCES, COMMUNICATIONS, AND CITIZENS AND TAX <br />PAYERS WISHING TO ADDRESS COUNCIL ON ANY ITEM POSTED ON THE AGENDA <br /> <br />Don Cameron of 402 Bay Oaks Rd., La Porte, Texas spoke in regards to road conditions located <br />near Bayshore Elementary School. Mr. Cameron provided photos and requested Council to look <br />into the conditions of the roads. <br /> <br />Delia Claus was not present to address City Council. <br /> <br />Dr. Bobbye Worsham of8805 Carlow, La Porte, Texas spoke in support of the improvements to <br />Canada Road. <br /> <br />Dave Tumquist of333 Josh Way, La Porte, Texas spoke in support of the scooter ordinance and <br />helmet regulations. Mr. Tumquist requested Council to clarify the age discrepancies of twelve <br />year olds vs. sixteen year olds before adopting the ordinance. <br /> <br />Council Retired into Executive Session at 6:34 pm to discuss 551.071 (Legal Matter) - Discuss <br />legal matter with City Attomey and City Manager. <br /> <br />Council Reconvened the Regular Meeting at 7:06 p.m. <br /> <br />7. Council to consider adopting an ordinance amending Fiscal Year 2004-05 Budget for the Grant <br />Fund to incorporate law enforcement terrorism prevention programs and state homeland security <br />programs. <br /> <br />Assistant City Manager, Cynthia Alexander presented summary and recommendation and <br />answered Council's questions. <br />
