Council to discuss and consider approval or other action regarding a legislative bill filed, allowing trucks to haul and <br />extra 10,000 pounds of contained cargo. <br /> <br />Councilmember Beasley suggested pass a resolution. A letter needs to be sent to Senator Jackson and Representatives <br />with the Resolution and letter. Mayor directed Staff to fax to other cities, Councilmember Engelken to contact HGAC <br />regarding bill. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilmember Mosteit to draft Resolution opposing and letter as presented. Second by <br />Councilmember Moser. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Ayes: Porter, Beasley, Engelken, Moser, Mosteit, Clausen, Rigby and Griffiths <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br /> <br />15. A break was called at 9:15 p.m. and the Workshop convened at 9:23 p.m. <br /> <br />Open Workshop at 9:23 p.m. <br /> <br />A. Building Official Debbie Wilmore discussed options for mowing of City right-of-way, with the cost to mow areas <br />with homeowners, and provided staff with direction. Staff provided information; with this item being looked at <br />further during the budget meetings. <br /> <br />B. Supervising Engineer Robert Cummings discussed options concerning mitigation of parking on public rights-of- <br />way and reduction of sight triangle obstruction at 4th Street and Fairmont Parkway. Mr. Cummings was given <br />direction to research further and return to Council for action after verifying whether it needed to be bid.. <br /> <br />16. Closed Workshop at 10:15 p.m. and reconvened Regular Meeting. <br /> <br />17. Administrative Reports <br /> <br />City Manager Debra Feazelle reminded Council and Staff of the First Lady Tour on Main Street, with the Texas <br />Historic Commission on Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at 10:00 a.m.; La Porte "Neighborhood" 2005 Gala on <br />Thursday, April 14, 2005, at the Sylvan Beach Pavilion at 6:00 p.m.; Fire Department Appreciation Banquet on <br />Thursday, April 14, 2005, at the Houston Yacht Club at 6:30 p.m.; and Plant Manager's Breakfast on Wednesday, May <br />18,2005, at Sylvan Beach Pavilion at 7:00 a.m. <br /> <br />18. Council Comments <br /> <br />Porter, Engelken, Mosteit, Beasley, Clausen, Moser, Rigby and Griffiths had comments. <br /> <br />21.
