<br />City Council Regular and Workshop .ng - July 25, 2005 <br /> <br />tit <br /> <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />Council encouraged staff to move forward. <br /> <br />B Emergency Management Jeff Suggs introduced Ms. Sarah Moore who provided Mayor, Council and <br />Staff the Emergency Management Intern's Progress Report. <br /> <br />11. Close Workshop and reconvened Regular Meeting at 7:29 p.m. <br /> <br />12. Administrative Reports <br /> <br />Ms. Feazelle reminded Council of the August 2,2005 National Night Out, the Breakfast with the Stars August 10, <br />2005 at 7:00 a.m. at Sylvan Beach Pavilion, Budget Workshop Meetings August 8 - 11,2005 in Council <br />Chambers, Labor Holiday Observed Monday, September 5, 2005. <br /> <br />In addition, Ms. Feazelle provided Council with the following additional items: <br /> <br />She advised Council she spoke with Mr. Bernard representing industries at an Alliance meeting last week <br />regarding. He advised they have written letters in opposition to the property tax legislation that we have been in <br />opposition to as well. He will be sending the City information to follow up on. She further noted these items <br />could have an impact on the budget. <br /> <br />Alliance has commissioned a report and it will be released on the lOth of August. As we receive more <br />information, we will keep council informed. <br /> <br />Citizen surveys are coming in and we have received approximately 800 to date. <br /> <br />The blood drive went extremely well. We received 189 units of blood and nine pick up trucks of items to be sent <br />oversees. <br /> <br />13. Council Comments <br /> <br />Rigby, Moser, Griffiths, Ebow, Engelken, Mosteit, Clausen, and Porter had comments. <br /> <br />16. Council to consider approval or other action regarding an ordinance enacting amendments to the City Manager's <br />Employment Agreement <br /> <br />Mayor presented summary and recommendation and answered Council's questions. <br /> <br />Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins read Ordinance 2004-2729-B AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AMEND EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY <br />OF LA PORTE AND THE CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, MAKING VARIOUS FINDNGS <br />AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT, FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN <br />MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made bv Councilmember Rigbv to approve Ordinance 2004-2729-B as oresented bv Mayor. Second <br />by Council member Moser. The motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Ayes: Porter, Ebow, Engelken, Moser, Mosteit, Clausen, Griffiths, and Rigby <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br /> <br />17. There being no further business to come before Council, the Regular Meeting and Workshop was duly adjourned <br />at 7:47p.m. <br />
