Jeff Suggs and representatives for PPG discussed Discuss Emergency Notification and PPG <br />Incident. <br /> <br />Braun Thompson, Safety and Health Director ofPPG and Plant Manager Tom Norbitt provided <br />City Council with an overview ofthe incident. <br /> <br />Council was advised the incident was caused by iron contamination to the vessel. PPG has <br />researched and analyzed the incident and have altered their plan to notify the City of La Porte as <br />soon a problem is evident. The further noted they would communicate with the City of La Porte <br />Fire Department immediately in the future. The Fire Department will be included in future <br />meetings at PPG. PPG provided Council a report on the release. <br /> <br />B. Council received report from Director of Parks & Recreation Stephen Barr on future Park <br />Development Fees for La Porte. <br /> <br />Mr. Barr provided Council with additional survey information. <br /> <br />Council directed staff to move forward. <br /> <br />13. Close Workshop and reconvened Regular Meeting at 8:03 p.m. <br /> <br />14. Administrative Reports <br /> <br />City Manager Debra Feazelle provided an oral report on Hurricane Rita more to follow and reminded <br />Council of the Neighborhood Centers Banquet, October 6,2005, at the Houston Yacht Club at 6:30 <br />p.m., The Salute to Industry (Albemarle) Golf Tournament, October 12,2005, at Bay Forest Golf <br />Course at 8:00 a.m. and Salute to Industry (Albemarle) Banquet, October 13,2005 at Sylvan Beach <br />Pavilion at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Ms. Feazelle reported Chief Reff advised her Saturday evening that Ms. Delia Claus passed away. <br /> <br />Lastly, she publicly apologized to Louis Rigby for recent communications breakdowns from staff that he <br />reported at the last Council meeting. (See attached report) <br /> <br />15. Council Comments <br /> <br />Councilmember Beasley arrived at 8:24 p.m. <br /> <br />Griffiths, Engelken, Clausen, Rigby, Moser and Porter had comments. <br /> <br />16. EXECUTIVE SESSION - PURSUANT TO PROVISION OF THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW, <br />CHAPTER 551.071 THROUGH 551.076, 551-087, TEXAS GOVERNMENT CODE <br />(CONSULTATION WITH ATTORNEY, DELIBERATION REGARDING REAL PROPERTY, <br />DELffiERATION REGARDING PROSPECTIVE GIFT OR DONATION, PERSONNEL <br />MATTERS, DELffiERATION REGARDING SECURITY DEVICES, OR EXCLUDING A <br />WITNESS DURING EXAMINATION OF ANOTHER WITNESS IN AN INVESTIGATION, <br />DELIBERATION REGARDING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT NEGOTIATIONS) <br />
