<br />Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins read: RESOLUTION 2005-24 - A RESOLUTION DECLARING
<br />INTENTION TO REIMBURSE CERTAIN EXPENDITURES WITH BORROWING PROCEEDS.

<br />Motion was made by Council member Griffiths to approve the Resolution 2005-24 as presented by Ms.
<br />Alexander. Second by Council member Engelken. The motion carried
<br />

<br />9. Council to consider approval of an agreement between the City of La Porte and Hale-Mills Construction, Ltd. For
<br />the design build of the La Porte Police Facility for a lump sum price of $9,694,315; with a 2% contingency of
<br />$193,886 for a total authorization of$9,888,201 or approval of an agreement between the City of La Porte and
<br />Hale-Mills Construction, Ltd. For the design-build of the La Porte Police Facility, increasing the design wind
<br />loading to 150 mph, for a lump sum price of$9,991,758, with a 2% contingency of$199,835, for a total
<br />authorization of$10,191,593.

<br />Director of Public Works Steve Gillett presented summary and recommendation and answered Council's
<br />questions.

<br />Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins read: ORDINANCE 2005-2856 - CONSIDER APPROVAL OR OTHER
<br />ACTION REGARDING AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT
<br />BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND HALE-MILLS CONSTRUCTION, LTD., INCREASING THE
<br />DESIGN WIND LOADING TO 150 MPH, APPROPRIATING NOT TO EXCEED $9,991,758.00 PLUS A
<br />CONTINGENCY OF $199,835.00 TO FUND SAID CONTRACT; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND
<br />PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS
<br />LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.

<br />Motion was made by Council member Moser to approve ordinance 2005-2856, increasing design wind to 150
<br />mph, as presented by Mr. Gillett. Second by Council member Beasley. The motion carried
<br />

<br />Motion was made by Councilmember Clausen to cancelled the November 28, 2005 and December 26, 2005
<br />Regular Called City Council Meetings as presented by Mayor Porter. Second by Council member Moser.
