<br />City Council Regular Meeting and Workshop Meeting -April 10, 2006 <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />12.06 and section 12.09, amending section 12.10, and amending sections 5.00 through 5.04 <br />"General Standards for Subdivisions and Developments." <br /> <br />Director of Parks & Recreation Stephen Barr presented summary and recommendation and <br />answered Council's questions. <br /> <br />Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins read: ORDINANCE 1444-G -AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING CITY OF LA PORTE ORDINANCE NO 1444-C BY AMENDING <br />SECTION 5.00 "GENERAL STANDARDS FOR SUBDIVISIONS AND <br />DEVELOPMENTS' BY REVISING SECTIONS 5.00, 5.01 AND 5.03 BY DELETING <br />SECTION 5.04 IN ITS ENTIRETY; AND BY AMENDING SECTION 12.00 "OPEN <br />SP ACE WITHIN SUBDIVISONS AND DEVELOPMENTS, PARKS AND PARKLAND <br />DEDICATION, SPECIAL USE SITES' BY REPLACING SECTIONS 12.00 THROUGH <br />12.06 AND SECTION 12.09 AND AMENDING SECTION 12.10; , FINDING <br />COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; PROVIDING A SAVINGS <br />CLAUSE AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Council member Griffiths to approve Ordinance 1444-G as presented <br />by Mr. Barr. Second by Council member Moser. Close Regular Meeting and Open Workshop at 6:55 p.m. <br /> <br />A. Council received an update on F216 Detention Basin from Wayne Sabo. <br /> <br />B. Assistant City Manager John Joerns provided a report on Empowerment Zones and <br />Chapter 380 provisions for economic development. It was the consensus of Council <br />they favored the 380 provision. <br /> <br />C. Golf Pro Alex Osmond provided Council and overview of the Golf Course needs for <br />the upcoming budget. <br /> <br />10. Closed Workshop meeting and reconvened Regular Meeting at 7:47 p.m. <br /> <br />11. Administrative Reports <br /> <br />City Manager Debra Feazelle reminded council of the Spring Holiday, April 14, 2006, City <br />Offices closing, La Porte Neighborhood 2006 Gala, April 20, 2006 at Sylvan Beach <br />Pavilion, San Jacinto Day re-enactment and Battle of San Jacinto Triathlon, April 22, 2006, <br />Norman Malone Memorial Golf Tournament, April 26, 2006 at Bay Forest Golf Course, <br />Sylvan Beach Day April 29, 2006 and Prayer Breakfast/Ministerial Alliance, May 4,2006 at <br />Senior Center from 7:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. <br /> <br />Additonally, she reminded Council of the Red Suspender Breakfast on Society fish fry <br />benefiting the Special Olympics on April 22, 2006. <br /> <br />12.
