Council to consider approval or other action regarding Ordinance 1501 E5/ #SCU 06-003 <br />Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins read: ORDINANCE 1501 E5-AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE <br />CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, CHAPTER 106, MORE COMMONLY REFERRED <br />TO AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE BY GRANTING A SPECIAL <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT 4SCU06-003 FOR THAT CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND DESCRIBED AS <br />FOLLOWS, TO -WIT: A 20 ACRE TRACT OUT OF ±300 ACRES OF LAND (PORT CROSSING) IN THE <br />GEORGE B. MCKINSTRY, A-47, W.P. HARRIS SURVEY, A-30, JOHNSON HUNTER SURVEY, A-35, <br />CITY OF LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEVELOPING AN <br />OFFICE/WAREHOUSE FACILITY IN A PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT (PUD) ZONE; MAKING <br />CERTAIN FINDINGS OF FACT RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE <br />OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Council member Engelken to approve Ordinance 1501 E5 #SCU 06-003 as presented by <br />Mr. Sabo. Second by Council member Ebow. The motion carried. <br />Ayes: Mosteit, Moser, Engelken, Beasley, Ebow, Clausen and Mayor Porter. <br />Nays: Rigby <br />Abstain: None <br />16. Discuss passing ordinances condemning fourteen(14) substandard structures <br />Open Public Hearing - Mayor Porter opened the Public Hearing at 6: 41 p.m. <br />Review by Staff —Debbie Wilmore provided an overview. <br />Public Input — <br />Christopher Pickney 305 Nth 6`h Street — no objections to condemning wants city to do what is the lost to owner <br />and who will be doing demolition work. <br />Debbie Wilmore explained process of bids for each home. <br />Recommendation of Staff— Unanimously, the Staff recommended City Council consider passage or other action <br />regarding condemnation ordinances on fourteen (14) substandard structures. <br />The Public Hearing was closed at 6:58 p.m. <br />17. Council to consider approval or other action regarding ordinances condemning fourteen (14) substandard <br />structures as follows: <br />Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins read: Ordinance 2920 — AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE <br />BUILDINGS) LOCATED ON Blk, 2 Lots 7-8, Crescent Shores, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS, TO BE IN FACT <br />A NUISANCE; ORDERING SUCH BUILDING(S) CONDEMNED; FINDING THAT Paul Robert Bonner & <br />Wanda Elaine Bonner, J.H. Smith % Elaine Bonner and Paul R. Bonner IS THE RECORD OWNER(S) OF <br />SAID PROPERTY; ORDERING THE SAID OWNERS(S) TO ENTIRELY REMOVE OR TEAR DOWN <br />SUCH BUILDING(S); ORDERING THE SAID OWNER(S) TO COMMENCE SAID REMOVAL OR <br />DEMOLITION WITHIN TEN (10) DAYS FROM THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE; AND TO <br />COMPLETE SAID REMOVAL OR DEMOLOTION WITHIN THIRTY (30) DAYS FROM THE EFFECTIVE <br />DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE; ORDERING THE DANGEROUS BUILDING INSPECTION BOARD TO <br />PLACE A NOTICE ON SAID BUILDING(S); ORDERING THE CITY SECRETARY TO FORWARD A <br />COPY OF THIS ORDINANCE TO SAID OWNER'S); PROVIDING FOR THE REMOVAL OF SAID <br />BUILDING(S) BY THE CITY OF LA PORTE IF NOT REMOVED BY SAID OWNER(S) IN THE MANNER <br />
