PETITIONS, REMONSTRANCES, COMMUNICATIONS, AND CITIZENS AND TAX <br />PAYERS WISHING TO ADDRESS COUNCIL ON ANY ITEM POSTED ON THE <br />AGENDA. <br /> <br />JAY DUNHAM - of 1101 Willowcreek Dr. La Porte, Texas 77571 addressed Council to <br />remind of the Red Suspenders Society Shrimp Boil benefiting the La Porte Special Olympics <br />to be held Saturday, September 23rd at the Senior Center. <br /> <br />7. Public Hearing - Council to consider approval or other action of an ordinance amending <br />Chapter 106 (Zoning) adding to Exterior Building Design Standards in TIRZ No.1. <br /> <br />Open Public Hearing - Mayor Porter opened the Public Hearing at 6:25 p.m. <br /> <br />Director of Planning Wayne Sabo presented summary and recommendation and answered <br />Council's questions. <br /> <br />Public Input: Russell Plank of spoke in favor of the ordinance. <br /> <br />Carlos Martinez of 724 S. 1 sl Street spoke in opposition of the ordinance due <br />to the increase of materials. <br /> <br />The Public Hearing was closed at 6:44 p.m. <br /> <br />Recommendation of Planning and Zoning Commission - Planning and Zoning Commission <br />recommended approval of an ordinance amending Chapter 106 (Zoning) adding to Exterior <br />Building Design Standards in TIRZ No.1. <br /> <br />8. Council to consider approval or other action regarding Ordinance 150l-F5 <br />Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins read: Ordinance l50l-F5- AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, CHAPTER <br />106, MORE COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE <br />CITY OF LA PORTE, BY AMENDING ARTICLE IV. PLANNED UNIT <br />DEVELOPMENT DEVISION 4, REQUIREMENTS, SUBDIVISION 1, GENERALLY, <br />AND BY ADDING SECTION 106-680, EXTERIOR BUILDING DESIGNS, FOR THE <br />CITY'S TAX INCREMENT REINVESTMENT ZONE NO.1; MAKING CERTAIN <br />FINDINGS OF FACT RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH <br />THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />It was noted by Councilmembers Moser and Mosteit they feel Council should be consistent <br />in making decisions when it involves code enforcement and code changes. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Council member Griffiths to approve Ordinance l50l-F5 as <br />recommended by Mr. Sabo. Second by Council member Engelken. The motion carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: Mosteit, Moser, Beasley, Engelken, Rigby, Ebow, Clausen, Griffiths and Mayor. <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br />
