Council to consider approval or other action regarding Ordinance 150l-S5 <br /> <br />Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins read: Ordinance 1501-S5- AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, CHAPTER <br />106, MORE COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE <br />CITY OF LA PORTE, BY CHANGING THE ZONING CLASSIFICATION FROM <br />PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT TO NEIGHBORHOOD COMMERCIAL, AS <br />REQUESTED FOR 1.3 ACRES OF LAND OUT OF TR 719 AND E ~ OF TR 718, LA <br />PORTE OUTLOTS, LOCATED IN THE WILLIAM M. JONES SURVEY, ABSTRACT <br />482, LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, HEREIN DESCRIBED; MAKING CERTAIN <br />FINDINGS OF FACT RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH <br />THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF; <br /> <br />Motion was made by Council member Chuck Engelken to approve Ordinance 1501-S5 <br />#R07 -003 as recommended by Planning & Zoning Commission for the approval of rezone <br />request #R07-003, rezoning 1.3 tract from Planned Unit Development (PUD) to <br />Neighborhood Commercial (NC). Second by Council member Howard Ebow. The motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Ayes: Rigby, Moser, Beasley, Clausen, Engelken, Ebow and Porter. <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None. <br />Absent: ~ m D.J.+e"I-l-- <br /> <br />14. Public Hearing - Council to consider approval or other action on recommendation of <br />Planning & Zoning Commission to approve Rezone Request #R07-002, rezoning the <br />referenced property form Low-Density Residential (R-l) to General Commercial (GC). <br /> <br />Open Public Hearing - Mayor Porter opened the Public Hearing at 6:43 p.m. <br /> <br />Planning Director Wayne Sabo presented summary and recommendation and answered <br />Council's questions. <br /> <br />Public Input: There were no citizens wishing to provide input. <br /> <br />Recommendation of Planning & Zoning Commission - City Council consider approval of <br />Rezone Request #R07-002, rezoning the referenced property form Low-Density Residential <br />(R-1) to General Commercial (GC). <br /> <br />The Public Hearing was closed at 6:46 p.m. <br /> <br />15.
