Second by <br />Council member Engelken Motion carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: Moser, Beasley, Engelken, Clausen, Rigby, Mosteit, Malone and Porter. <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br />Absent: Ebow <br /> <br />Item C - Council to consider approval or other action regarding an ordinance to continue, <br />abolish, or modify the juvenile curfew ordinance <br /> <br />Police ChiefReffpresented summary and recommendation and answered Council's <br />questions. <br /> <br />Assistant City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 93-1887 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, BY ADDING A <br />NEW ARTICLE IV TO CHAPTER 13, RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF <br />DAY TIME JUVENILE CURFEW; CONTAINING FINDINGS AND OTHER <br />PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE FOREGOING SUBJECT; DECLARING CERTAIN <br />CONDUCT TO BE UNLAWFUL AND PROVIDING PENALTIES THEREFORE; <br />PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING A REPEALING CLAUSE; FINDING <br />COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilmember Clausen to continue the Ordinance as presented by <br />Chief Reff. Second by Councilmember Malone.
