Special Called Meeting, Public Hearing and Workshop Meeting 5-19-08 7 Assistant Clark Askins read: Ordinance 1501-06, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, CHAPTER 106, MORE COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, BY GRANTING A SPECIAL CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT #SCU08-001 FOR THAT CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: TO-WIT: 2.29 ACRE, LOTS 1-32 BLOCK 686, TOWN OF LA PORTE, JOHNSON HUNTER SURVEY, ABSTRACT 35, LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS, FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEVELOPING OFF-SITE PARKING FOR PFEIFFER & SON, LTD.; MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS OF FACT RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF; Motion was made by Councilmember Enqelken to approve Ordinance 1501-C6 as recommended by Mr. Teitiens. Seconded by Councilmember Malone. The motion carried. Ayes: Mayor Porter, Mayor Pro-Tem Rigby, Clausen, Mosteit, Moser, Engelken, Black, Ebow and Malone Abstain: None Absent: None 20. Council to consider approval or other action regarding a resolution authorizing the resale of tax delinquent real properties owned by City of La Porte as trustees for taxing entities, to high bidders - (Res.2008-07) Finance Director Mr. Dolby presented summary and recommendation and answered Council's questions. Councilmember Mosteit noted one property was not included in the agenda request Assistant Clark Askins read Resolution No. 2008-07, A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE RESALE OF CERTAIN PROPERTY. Motion was made by Councilmember Enqelken to approve Resolution 2008-07 as recommended by Mr. Dolby. Second by Councilmember Mosteit. The motion carried. Ayes: Mayor Porter, Mayor Pro-Tem Rigby, Mosteit, Moser, Clausen, Engelken, Black, Ebow and Malone Nays: None Abstain: None Absent: None 21. Council to receive report on ISO Rating. Assistant Fire Chief Donald Ladd provided a report on ISO rating. The City's rating improved from a 4 to a 2. This is a very positive rating that will save citizens on their yearly insurance costs.
