Minutes of Regular Meeting and Workshop Meeting September 8, 2008 4 <br />Assistant Fire Chief Donald Ladd presented summary and presentation and answered <br />Councils' questions. <br />Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins read ordinance 3108, AN ORDINANCE APPROVING <br />AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND THE CITY <br />OF SHOREACRES FOR FIRE AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES; MAKING <br />VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING <br />COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilmember Engelken to approve Ordinance 3108 as presented <br />by Mr. Ladd. Second by Councilmember Malone. The motion carried. <br />Ayes: Mosteit, Clausen, Rigby, Moser, Black, Malone, Engelken, and Porter <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br />Absent: Ebow <br />10. Mayor Porter closed Regular Meeting and opened Workshop Meeting at 7:08 p.m. <br />City Council reviewed and discussed the paperless agenda recommendations from the <br />City Secretary's Office and the I.T. Division. Council noted they would like all the back up <br />released to the public website at the same time it is distributed to the Council. They <br />directed staff to obtain laptops and docking stations. The laptops will be used during <br />Council meetings and can be taken home by Council members if needed. The Council <br />directed staff to move forward with this project. The City Secretary noted electrical <br />installation in the Council Chambers will be the most time consuming. Mr. Janoch noted <br />once the laptops are ordered they should arrive within two weeks. Staff noted they will <br />begin the process with Executive Staff in October and once the bugs have been worked <br />out will begin the process with Council. <br />11. Mayor Porter closed the Workshop Meeting and reconvened Regular Meeting at 7:22 p.m. <br />12. City Manager Ron Bottoms provided Administrative Reports for the following: <br />A.
