<br />Hurricane Ike Proclamation <br />Amended Curfew City Ordinance# 3/10 <br />September 13, 2008 <br /> <br />Due to Hurricane Ike, the City of La Porte has issued a mandatory evacuation of the <br />City. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, by proclamation issued September 11,2008, the Mayor declared a curfew <br />for the City of La Porte. Whereas, by this proclamation issued September 13, 2008, the <br />Mayor has amended that curfew as follows: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said state of disaster requires that certain emergency measures be taken <br />pursuant to the Executive Order of the Governor Relating to Emergency Management. <br />Now, therefore, the following amended regulations shall take effect immediately upon <br />issuance, and shall remain in effect as noted: <br /> <br />1. CURFEW <br />(a) A person shall not remain or travel upon any public or private property <br />within the city of La Porte City limits as follows; <br /> <br />From 10:30 am on Saturday, September 13, 2008 until 6:00 am on Sunday, <br />September 14, 2008; thereafter nightly, from 7:00 pm until 6:00 am the <br />following morning and continuing nightly thereafter until further notice. <br /> <br />(b) Subsection (a) shall not apply to: <br /> <br />(1) a person authorized by the Emergency Management Director to <br />assist in the production of the health, safety, or welfare of the <br />public; or <br />(2) a person who remains or travels upon private property which is <br />owned by him or upon which the person has been invited. <br /> <br />2. PENALTY <br />(a) This regulation shall have the effect of an ordinance when signed by the <br />Mayor. <br />(b) A person who violates any provision of this regulation, upon conviction, <br />is punishable by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00). <br /> <br />3. EMERGENCY <br />This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage and <br />publication, and it is accordingly so ordered. <br /> <br />ADar:.:tA::V~th_day of September, 2008. <br /> <br /> <br />Mayor, City of La Porte <br />Harris County, Texas <br />
