Received monthly Drainage report form City Staff - S. Gillett <br /> <br />Public Works Director Steve Gillett provided a monthly Drainage Report. <br /> <br />11. Close Regular Meeting and open Workshop Meeting <br /> <br />Mayor Beasley Closed Regular Meeting at 6:43 p.m. and Opened workshop Meeting at <br />6:44 p.m. <br /> <br />Director of Planning Tim Tietjens discussed current livestock regulations. <br /> <br />Citizens Comments: <br /> <br />Nolen Allen, 1037 North "L" had a question on what is considered land as described in the <br />livestock ordinance, asked if buildings were included. He provided Council with a "draft" <br />ordinance that a few of the Lomax citizens are proposing: 1.) redefining "domestic <br />livestock", naming them "recreational livestock" for a better term 2.) that the ordinance only <br />effect large lot districts 3.) referencing animals being a health hazard, one or 20 animals <br />could be health hazard, depending on the breed. He provided a petition and a copy of the <br />"drafted" ordinance. <br /> <br />Council directed staff to move forward with an updated ordinance. Councilmember Mosteit <br />asked that issuing citations be placed on hold until the ordinance is amended. <br /> <br />Planning Director Tim Tietjens said that this issue would need to go to Planning and <br />Zoning Committee and then back to Council for approval. <br /> <br />12. Mayor Beasley Closed Workshop Meeting and reconvened Regular Meeting at 7:03 p.m. <br /> <br />13. Receive Report from the Drainage and Flooding Committee and La Porte Development <br />Corporation Board - Councilmember's Mosteit and Engelken <br /> <br />Committee member Mosteit provided a report from the Drainage and Flooding Committee, <br />reported that the next Drainage and Flooding Committee meeting will be on June 24th, <br />2009. <br /> <br />Councilmember Engelken suggested that the City schedule a meeting with Judge Emmett <br />and Commissioner from Harris County to take drainage concerns to the next level. <br /> <br />Board member Clausen provided a report from the La Porte Development Corporation <br />Board. <br />
