<br />Minutes of Regular Meeting and Workshop of the La Porte City Council held on June 22, 2009 Page 3 <br /> <br />A suggestion was made by Councilmember Black to amend the motion by removing all <br />language regarding Sylvan Beach Pavilion or Harris County/Sylvia Garcia, to broaden <br />scope of review from Sylvan Beach to entire city. <br /> <br />Councilmember Engelken amended the motion as requested. Receive Monthly Inspection Report for City Staff - D. Wilmore <br /> <br />Chief Building Official Debbie Wilmore presented the Monthly Inspection Report to City <br />Council and answered Councils' questions. <br /> <br />9. Close Regular Meeting and open Workshop Meeting <br /> <br />Mayor Beasley Closed Regular Meeting at 7:04 and Opened workshop Meeting at 7:05 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />A. Discuss Dangerous Buildings- W. Wilmore <br /> <br />Chief Building Official Debbie Wilmore led the discussion of dangerous buildings. <br />This item will be brought back to a future Council Meeting for action. <br /> <br />B. Discuss High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Program - K. Adcox <br /> <br />Police Chief Ken Adcox led the discussion of a High Intensity Drug Trafficking <br />Area Program. He informed Council he will be assigning only one officer to this <br />program instead of the current three which are assigned. He noted this will save <br />the City money as well as better utilize existing personnel. <br /> <br />C. Discuss Boards and Commissions Appointments and Current Policy - Mayor <br />Beasley <br /> <br />Mayor Beasley led the discussion of the Boards and Commissions Appointments <br />and current policy. <br /> <br />Council wants to bring this item back to the first meeting in July to discuss again <br />and make appointments as needed. <br /> <br />Council advised the City Secretary not to call board members or applicants to <br />inquire about re-appointments or applicant status. <br />
