<br />Minutes of Regular Meeting and Workshop of the La Porte City Council held on July 27, 2009 Page 2 <br /> <br />Mayor Beasley presented a proclamation for "St. John's Episcopal Church Day" (Mission <br />on the Bay) to Father Mike Besson. Numerous members of the church were also in <br />present to receive proclamation. <br /> <br />Mayor Beasley and Councilmember Mosteit presented a proclamation for "George Watkins <br />Day" to George Watkins. <br /> <br />Commissioner Sylvia Garcia was to present a resolution to former Mayor Alton Porter for <br />his contributions and leadership with the City of La Porte. Due to conflicts, this will be <br />handled at a future Council Meeting. <br /> <br />5. Consent Agenda - Any item may be removed by a Council person for discussion <br /> <br />A. Council to consider approval or other action extending the City Manager's <br />authority to execute land sale contracts for the 2006 H.O.M.E. Northside <br />Neighborhood Project for an additional 365 days between the City of La Porte and <br />buyers of properties at 224 North 6th St., 211 North 1st St., 207 North 2nd St., and <br />216 North 2nd St. (Ord. 3159) - Tietjens <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilmember Engelken to approve the consent agenda as <br />presented. A second was made by Councilmember Mosteit.
