Council to consider approval or other action approving the recommended date of <br />September 21, 2009 for Public Hearing on the City's FY 2009-2010 Proposed Budget - M. <br />Dolby <br /> <br />Director of Finance Michael Dolby presented summary and recommendations and <br />answered Council's questions. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilmember Engelken to approve the date of September 14, <br />2009 for the Public Hearing on the City's FY 2009-2010 Proposed Budget as presented by <br />Mr. Dolby. A second was made by Councilmember Mosteit. Receive Staff report from Inspections Division - D. Wilmore <br /> <br />Chief Building Official Debbie Wilmore presented staff report from the Inspections Division. <br /> <br />12. Mayor Beasley closed Regular meeting and opened Workshop meeting at 7:35 p.m. <br /> <br />A. Discuss Hotel/Motel Issues - T. Tietjens <br /> <br />Director of Planning Tim Tietjens led the discussion on hotel and motel sites. The <br />following outlines the discussion: <br /> <br />Consider limiting the space where hotels and motels could be built. <br />Consider how close they should be built to residences and schools. <br />Background checks should be done regarding the quality of the hotel chain. <br />Height distance should be checked. <br />Determine if hotels/motels should be clustered in one area of town. <br />Consider the future needs of the city as it relates to the economy. <br />Consider commercial code for this type of building. <br /> <br />Council would like to see occupancy rate statistics. <br />
