<br />Minutes of Regular Meeting and Workshop of the La Porte City Council held on August 10 -11, 2009 Page 3 <br /> <br />Mayor Beasley closed the Public Hearing at 6:25 p.m. in connection with Ordinances 3162 <br />and 3163 and tabled public hearing in connection with Ordinances 3164 and 3165 for 60 <br />days, to be taken up at the October 12, 2009 Council Meeting. <br /> <br />7. Council to consider approval or other action regarding ordinances declaring the buildings <br />located at 201 Garfield Street, 207 East "An Street, 704 S. Holmes and 401 N. 6th Street <br />condemned, and ordering removal of same and to table buildings located at 704 S. <br />Holmes and 401 North 6th for 60 days. <br /> <br />Assistant City Attorney read Ordinances: <br /> <br />Ordinance 3162 - An ordinance declaring the building(s) located on Blk. 5: Lot 9 & Tr. 10: <br />Sylvan Beach, Harris County, Texas, to be in fact a nuisance; ordering such building(s) <br />condemned; finding that Antonio A. Deleza, is the record owner(s) of said property; <br />ordering the said owner(s) to entirely remove or tear down such building(s); ordering the <br />said owner(s) to commence said removal or demolition within ten (10) days from the <br />effective date of this ordinance; and to complete said removal or demolition within thirty <br />(30) days from the effective date of this ordinance; ordering the dangerous building <br />inspection board to place a notice on said building(s); ordering the City Secretary to <br />forward a copy of this ordinance to said owner(s) providing for the removal of said <br />building(s) by the City of La Porte if not removed by said owner(s) in the manner provided <br />herein; providing an effective date hereof; and finding compliance with the open meetings <br />law. <br /> <br />Ordinance 3163 - An ordinance declaring the building(s) located on Blk 198; E 68.6' of <br />Lots 11-13; La Porte, Harris County, Texas, to be in fact a nuisance; ordering such <br />building(s) condemned; finding that Wade Cooper and Wade Cooper, Sr., are the record <br />owner(s) of said property; ordering the said owner(s) to entirely remove or tear down such <br />building(s); ordering the said owner(s) to commence said removal or demolition within ten <br />(10) days from the effective date of this ordinance; and to complete said removal or <br />demolition within thirty (30) days from the effective date of this ordinance; ordering the <br />dangerous building(s) inspections board to place a notice on said building(s); ordering the <br />City Secretary to forward a copy of this ordinance to said owner(s); providing for the <br />removal of said building(s) by the City of La Porte if not removed by said owner(s) in the <br />manner provided herein; providing an effective date hereof; and finding compliance with <br />the open meetings law. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilmember Black to approve Ord. 3162 and 3163 as presented <br />by Ms. Wilmore and table ordinances 3164 and 3165 for 60 days. A second was made by <br />Councilmember Leonard. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: Rigby, Moser, Black, Leonard, Malone, Engelken, Clausen and Beasley <br />Nays: Mosteit <br />Abstain: Councilmember Malone abstained from voting on the ordinance regarding the <br />Garfield property. <br />Absent: None <br />
