Minutes of Regular Meeting and Workshop Meeting of La Porte City Council on February 22, 2010 5 Economic Development/Main Street Coordinator Stacey Osborne discussed Tax Abatements. Ted Powell -1700 Roscoe -addressed City Council and expressed he does not feel tax abatements would be beneficial to the community. Council directed staff to move forward with the following amendments: 1) 20,000-50,000 square feet @ 10 % rate with a minimum of three million dollars. 2) take out warehousing 3) create jobs Council directed staff to bring back to a future meeting as an action item in the future. 9. Close Workshop Meeting and reconvene Regular Meeting Mayor Beasley closed Workshop Meeting and reconvened Regular Meeting at 8:29 p.m. 10. Receive Inspections Report from City Staff - S. Gillett Building Official Debbie Wilmore provided the monthly Inspections Report. 11. Receive Drainage and Flooding Committee -Board Member Mike Clausen Board Member Clausen provided a report from the Drainage and Flooding Committee. 12.
