Minutes of Regular Meeting and Workshop Meeting of La Porte City Council on June 28, 2010 <br />K <br />C. Consider approval or other action regarding a request to authorize change order of <br />in car DVR systems utilizing Kustom Signals as a sole source vendor — K. Adcox <br />Item C was pulled for discussion. <br />Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins read the following agenda caption: <br />Ordinance 3260 — AN ORDINANCE CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION OF THE CITY OF <br />LA PORTE TO FILL THE UN -EXPIRED TERM OF COUNCILPERSON-DISTRICT 5, <br />CALLING A RUN-OFF ELECTION, IF NECESSARY, DESIGNATING ELECTION <br />PRECINCTS AND POLLING PLACES, PROVIDING FOR THE USE OF VOTING <br />MACHINES, APPOINTING ELECTION OFFICIALS, PROVIDING FOR METHOD AND <br />DATES OF EARLY VOTING, PROVIDING FOR AN EARLY VOTING BALLOT BOARD, <br />PROVIDING FOR RETURN AND CANVASS OF VOTES OF SAID ELECTION, <br />PROVIDING FOR NOTICE, PROVIDING FOR FILING DEADLINE AND FILING FEES <br />FOR CANDIDATES, PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE, FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH <br />THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF <br />Motion was made by Councilmember Clausen to approve the consent agenda as <br />presented. Second by Councilmember Engelken. Petitions, Remonstrance's, Communications, Citizens and Tax Payers wishing to address <br />Council on any item posted on the agenda (Limited to five minutes) <br />Jerry Collins — 1111 Bayshore Dr., Bayview Apartments — advised Council there are two <br />dead trees that need to be taken care of across the street on City Property. In addition, <br />there needs to be additional lighting in the area. <br />Patricia Clark — 3817 Ashwood Cr., - advised Council of concerns with eighteen wheelers <br />parking at hotel and being in the Fairmont Park residential area. <br />Harris County Judge Hinojosa attended the meeting and informed Council he was newly <br />elected to his position and wanted to introduce himself to the community. <br />7. Consider approval or other action regarding passage of resolutions authorizing the public <br />resale of real property acquired by the City of La Porte through tax foreclosure, by the <br />constable of Harris County — (Res. 2010-07 through 2010-13) — K. Powell <br />Tax Manager Kathy Powell presented summary and recommendation and answered <br />Council's questions. In addition Tax Attorney Jason Bailey was present to provide <br />additional information and answer questions. <br />
