Consider approval or other action regarding an Ordinance amending Chapter 6 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of La Porte by approving an Alcohol Permit for "Smokes Wings", for use at 324 West Main Street (Ord. 1000-1-U) - M. Gillett Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins read the following ordinance caption: Ordinance 1000-1-U - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 6, "ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES", SECTION 6-78, "LOCATION OF SALES, PERMIT" OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, BY ADDING AN AREA IN THE CITY WHERE WINE AND/OR BEER FOR CONSUMPTION ON THE PREMISES MAY BE SOLD IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE OPERATION OF A RESTAURANT, PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE, PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. Motion was made bv Councilmember Enqelken to approve the consent aqenda as presented. Second bv Councilmember Clausen. Motion carried.
