Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins read Resolution 2010-23 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, ADOPTING THE 2010 APPRAISAL ROLL OF THE HARRIS COUNTY APPRAISAL DISTRICT Motion was made by Councilmember EnQelken to approve Resolution 2010-23 as presented by Mr. Dolby. A second by Councilmember Clausen. Motion carried. Ayes: Engelken, Martin, Moser, Zemanek, Clausen, Black, Mosteit and Mayor Rigby Nays: None Abstain: None Absent: Leonard 12. Consider approval or other action regarding an Ordinance establishing the Tax Rate for the 2010-2011 Fiscal Year at $.71 cents for hundred dollar valuation - (Ord. 3272) - M. Dolby. Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins read Ordinance 3272 AN ORDINANCE LEVYING TAXES UPON TAXABLE PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN AND SUBJECT TO TAXATION IN THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS; MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR SUPPORT; MAINTENANCE, AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF SAID CITY OF LA PORTE; FINDING THAT ALL REQUIRED NOTICES HAVE BEEN PUBLISHED AND ALL REQUIRED HEARING HELD; CONTAINING A REPEALING CLAUSE; CONTAINING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. Motion was made by Council member Clausen to approve Ordinance 3272 as presented by Mr. Dolby. A second by Councilmember Mosteit. Motion carried.
