8. Close Regular Meeting and Open Workshop Meeting <br /> Mayor Rigby recessed the Regular Meeting and Opened the Workshop Meeting at 6:27 p.m. <br /> A. Discuss draft ordinance providing for regulation of Golf Carts and provide Staff with <br /> direction — K. Adcox <br /> Chief Adcox discussed a draft ordinance regulating the use of Golf Carts in the City of La <br /> Porte. <br /> Council directed staff to bring the ordinance back to a future Council Meeting with language <br /> added to include golf carts during parades, Sylvan Beach Day. <br /> In addition staff was directed to visit with Harris County to allow golf carts at Sylvan Beach <br /> Park and consider changing speed limits on P, L and H Streets to accommodate the <br /> ordinance. <br /> Council also advised staff to enforce the golf cart ordinance for the safety of everyone after <br /> adopted. <br /> B. Discuss and receive report from La Porte - Bayshore Chamber of Commerce <br /> requesting assistance with the creation of a Farmer's Market and provide staff with <br /> direction — T. Tietjens <br /> Planning Director Tim Tietjens and Melinda Keeney of the La Porte - Bayshore Chamber of <br /> Commerce provided a report from the La Porte Chamber of Commerce requesting <br /> assistance with the creation of a Farmer's Market. <br /> Council directed staff and the La Porte Chamber of Commerce to meet and discuss an <br /> entire plan to create a Farmer's Market and bring the plan back to Council as a workshop <br /> item at a future meeting. <br /> 9. Close Workshop Meeting and Open Regular Meeting <br /> Mayor Rigby adjourned the Workshop Meeting and reconvened the Regular Meeting at 7:20 p.m. <br /> 10. Receive Monthly Inspections Report — D. Wilmore <br /> Chief Building Official Debbie Wilmore provided the monthly Inspections Report. <br /> 11. Receive Report from the Drainage and Flooding Committee - Chairman Mike Mosteit <br /> Chairman Mosteit provided a report from the Drainage and Flooding Committee and also informed <br /> Council the Drainage and Flooding Committee will meet on March 7, 2011, at 6:00 p.m. <br /> Councilmember Leonard left the table and was away from the meeting. <br /> 12.
