AUTHORIZATIONS/ORDINANCES/RESOLUTIONS <br />(a) Consider approval or other action authorizing the City Manager to enter into a construction <br />contract with R.W. Lucas Construction LLC for Bid #12026 for La Porte Department of <br />Transportation (D.O.T.) Weigh Station and authorizing a budget adjustment to increase <br />account 015-9892-628-5110 from the Capital Improvement Project (CIP) contingency <br />account — K. Adcox <br />Chief of Police Ken Adcox presented a summary. <br />Councilmember Zemanek moved to approve authorizing the City Manager to enter into a <br />construction contract with R.W. Lucas Construction LLC for Bid #12026 for La Porte <br />Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) Adcox <br />Chief of Police Ken Adcox presented a summary. <br />Council discussed the pros and cons of limiting citizens' protection of their property from <br />animals and snakes. Councilmembers commented they would like to see the discharging of <br />crossbows addressed in the ordinance, along with high -power rifles. <br />Councilmember Mosteit commented citizens should be allowed to protect livestock on their <br />property in the Lomax area. <br />Councilmember Engelken moved to table the item until reworked by staff and brought back <br />at a future meeting. Councilmember Mosteit seconded.
