(a) Discussion or other action authorizing the City Manager to enter into an agreement with the <br />City of Houston Police Department to assign a detective to the Internet Crimes Against <br />Children Task Force — K. Adcox <br />Chief of Police Ken Adcox presented a summary. <br />Councilmember Engelken moved to authorize the City Manager to enter into an agreement with the <br />City of Houston Police Department to assign a detective to the Internet Crimes Against Children <br />Task Force. Councilmember Zemanek seconded. MOTION PASSED. <br />Ayes: Mayor Rigby, Councilmembers Engelken, Zemanek, Kaminski, <br />Clausen, Mosteit, Leonard, Martin and Moser <br />Nays: None <br />Absent: None <br />(b) Discussion or other action regarding Dental/Vision Insurance plan for employees — K. <br />Anderson <br />Human Resource Manager Katherine Anderson presented a summary. <br />Councilmember Leonard moved to award an RFP for dental and vision insurance benefits to Met <br />Life for dental insurance and Block Vision for vision insurance. Councilmember Engelken <br />seconded. MOTION PASSED. <br />Ayes: Mayor Rigby, Councilmembers Engelken, Zemanek, Kaminski, <br />Clausen, Mosteit, Leonard, Martin and Moser <br />Nays: None <br />Absent: None <br />(c) Discussion or other action regarding dangerous buildings/structures — D. Wilmore <br />Building Official Debbie Wilmore presented a summary and reviewed the finding of the Dangerous <br />Building Inspection Board. <br />Councilmember Martin commented he was in receipt of a letter from property owner Susan Rector, <br />and he would like to meet with Ms. Rector prior to a public hearing date. Councilmember Martin <br />also requested updated information be forwarded to all of City Council regarding Rush Oaks <br />Apartments located on S. Broadway. <br />Councilmember Moser moved to authorize a November 12, 2012, public hearing date. <br />Councilmember Zemanek seconded. MOTION PASSED. <br />Ayes: Mayor Rigby, Councilmembers Engelken, Zemanek, Kaminski, <br />Clausen, Mosteit, Leonard, Martin and Moser <br />Nays: None <br />Absent: None <br />(d) Discussion or other action regarding possible options for improvements to the Lomax Park — <br />S. Barr <br />Parks and Recreation Director Stephen Barr presented a summary of numerous scenarios for <br />Improvements to the arena at Lomax Park.
