Councilmember Engelken asked if the Army Corps of Engineers had evaluated the Centennial Gate <br />Concept. Planning Director Tim Tietjens responded no, and that it is not funded. <br />Councilmember Moser asked what was Harris County's and the Port of Houston's view of the <br />Centennial Gate Concept. Mr. Tietjens responded he has not heard. <br />Councilmember Zemanek moved to accept the recommendation and approve Resolution 2013-26 <br />as presented by staff. Councilmember Moser seconded. Colleen Hicks and Jeff Martin also <br />provided information. <br />Councilmember Engelken moved to authorize the City Manager to draft an amendment to the <br />La Porte-Bayshore Chamber of Commerce contract and include additional funding in the upcoming <br />quarterly budget amendment for a total of $125,000 annually. REPORTS <br />(a) Receive report of La Porte Development Corporation Board — Councilmember Engelken <br />Councilmember Engelken provided a report of the actions by the La Porte Development <br />Corporation which took place at a meeting held just prior to this council meeting. <br />(b) Receive demonstration of proposed tourism website for the City of La Porte — T. Leach <br />Assistant City Manager Traci Leach and Marketing/Public Relations Specialist Jaree Hefner <br />provided a demonstration of the proposed tourism website for the City of La Porte. <br />Council directed Staff to move forward, stating the concept is very good. <br />9.
