Economic Development Coordinator Scott Livingston introduced Chad Burke, President/CEO of the <br /> Economic Alliance Houston Port Region, who presented a PowerPoint presentation on the <br /> 2014-2015 Annual Report. <br /> (b) Receive report of La Porte Development Corporation Board—Councilmember Engelken <br /> Councilmember Engelken reported the La Porte Development Corporation Board received the <br /> 2014-2015 Annual Report from Chad Burke, President/CEO of the Economic Alliance Houston Port <br /> Region. <br /> (c) Receive Strategic Plan Update—T. Leach <br /> Assistant City Manager Traci Leach provided the Strategic Plan Update and asked members of <br /> Council for questions or comments. There were no questions or comments. <br /> 8. ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS <br /> City Manager Corby Alexander reported on the incident of the two ships colliding in the Bay earlier <br /> this afternoon, and advised Council the City is working with the neighboring communities. <br /> Mr. Alexander also reported there were no life threating injuries as a result of the incident. <br /> 9. COUNCIL COMMENTS regarding matters appearing on the agenda; recognition of community <br /> members, city employees, and upcoming events; inquiry of staff regarding specific factual <br /> information or existing policies — Councilmembers Moser, Kaminski, Zemanek, Leonard, Engelken, <br /> Earp, Clausen, Martin and Mayor Rigby. <br /> Councilmember Clausen thanked everyone for attending the meeting; Councilmember Martin <br /> thanked Chad Burke for his presentation and the Girls and Boy Scouts for attending the meeting, <br /> congratulated Mayor Rigby and Councilmembers Leonard and Engelken on being re-elected, and <br /> reminded everyone of the La Porte Development Corporation Board workshop meeting on April 5, <br /> 2015, at 5:30 p.m. to establish guidelines for economic development projects and the enhancement <br /> grant program; Councilmember Moser congratulated Mayor Rigby and Councilmembers Leonard <br /> and Engelken on being re-elected and sent kudos to the La Porte Police Department for their work <br /> handling the traffic during the ship collision incident earlier this afternoon; Councilmember Kaminski <br /> congratulated Mayor Rigby and Councilmembers Leonard and Engelken on being re-elected and <br /> the Girls and Boys Scouts; Councilmember Leonard congratulated Mayor Rigby and <br /> Councilmember Engelken and himself for being re-elected, and commented the City is a great <br /> community to live in; Councilmembers Engelken and Earp congratulated Mayor Rigby and <br /> Councilmembers Engelken and Leonard for being re-elected, and thanked everyone for attending <br /> the meeting; and Mayor Rigby congratulated Councilmembers Leonard and Engelken on being <br /> re-elected, thanked George Watkins for his work organizing the 4th of July Parade, which continues <br /> to grow, commented he attended the Boys' Baseball Opening Day, and reminded Councilmembers <br /> to pick up evaluation forms for Judge Denise Mitrano. <br /> 10.
