Mayor Rigby opened !the public hearing at 7:13 p.m. Mark Fallis, Planning and Zoning Commission <br />member, spoke on the parcel with communications equipment. Mayor Rigby closed the public <br />hearing at 7:23 p.m. <br />8. REPORTS <br />a. Receive the 2021 La Porte Police Department Racial Profiling Report as presented by the <br />Chief of Police. [Steve Deardorff, Police Chief] <br />Chief Daeumer presented the report. <br />9. ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS <br />• Drainage and Flooding Committee meeting, March 14 <br />• City Council meeting; March 14 <br />• Planning and Zoning!! Commission meeting, March 17 <br />• City Council meeting; March 28 <br />City Manager Corby Alexander said there were no reports but expressed appreciation of the photo of <br />Mr. Norris. <br />10. COUNCIL COMMENTS Hear announcements concerning matters appearing on the agenda; <br />Items of community interest; and/or inquiries of staff regarding specific factual information or <br />existing policy from the Mayor, Councilpersons, and City staff, for which no formal action will <br />be discussed or taken. <br />Councilpersons congrat lated the La Porte Police Department on the renewal of their recognition and <br />thanked the Dept. for th it excellent work; noted that Mardi Gras on Main was a great event (except <br />for the weather) and thanked Parks, Fire, PD, EMS, and Public Works on the execution; shared pride <br />in and recollections of N r. Norris and asked to be involved in the hanging of his photo; requested an <br />update on Five Points Pavilion; and urged voters to vote in the primaries. <br />11. EXECUTIVE SESSION <br />a. Texas Government Code Sec. 561.071 (1)(A) - Pending or Contemplated Litigation: The City <br />Council will meet in closed session with the City Manager and legal counsel to discuss SV <br />Sons HWY 146, LLC vs. City of La Porte, Texas. [George Vie, Counsel for City; Clark Askins, <br />Assistant City Attorney; Corby Alexander, City Manager] <br />The Council convened in executive session at 7:42 p.m. <br />12. RECONVENE into open session and consider action, if any, on items) discussed in <br />executive session. <br />
