Avenue L, La Porte, Texas, 77571, at 7:00 <br /> p.m., with the following in attendance: <br /> Councilpersons present: Louis Rigby, Brandon Lunsford, Brent McCaulley, Mandi Williams, <br /> Chuck Engelken, Rick Helton <br /> Councilpersons attending remotely: None <br /> Councilpersons absent: Bill Bentley, Jay Martin, Robbie McLarrin <br /> Council-appointed officers present: Corby Alexander, City Manager; Lee Woodward, City <br /> Secretary <br /> CALL TO ORDER— Mayor Rigby called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> 2. CITIZEN COMMENT (Generally limited to five minutes per person; in accordance with state <br /> law, the time may be reduced if there is a high number of speakers or other considerations.) <br /> Cliff Wilson, Mike Pertl, Frank Sessions, Danny Earp, Kristin Lee, Dennis Roese, Randall <br /> Hayes, Chris Santiago, Daryl Leonard, Terri Hayes, Douglas Harris, Lanny Murdock, Charles <br /> Sloan, Sharon Henry, Steven Brown, Josh Hollub, Roger Hansel, Barry Tobias, Johnathan <br /> Branch, Debbie Brown, Wyatt Smith, Tim Benoit, Madison Suarez, Ron Nowetner, David <br /> Janda, and Mary Toney spoke of their pleasure with the lifestyle in the Lomax area, concerns <br /> about prior encroachments, chemical storage risks, potential drainage issues, challenges <br /> regarding livestock and wildlife, a rumor of an extension to Lomax School Road, worries about <br /> increased pollution, traffic, and crime, and in opposition to rezoning the area. Ti O'Daniel <br /> asked for more information. <br /> 3. STATUTORY AGENDA <br /> a. Presentation, discussion, and possible action regarding proposed development of <br /> an approximately 270-acre tract of land located south of State Highway 225 and east <br /> of Underwood Drive in La Porte, Texas, by owner Union Pacific Railroad, for <br /> industrial commercial and/or transportation uses. [Mayor Rigby and Councilperson <br /> Williams] <br /> Mayor Rigby reminded the assembled that no formal proposal has been received by the <br /> City and no action would be taken. <br />
