<br />1 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL CALLED MEETING OF CITY MANAGER SELECTION <br />PROCESS <br /> <br />November 20, 2006 <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Alton Porter at 5:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Members Present: Mayor Alton Porter, Howard Ebow, Tommy Moser and Chuck Engelken <br /> <br />Members Absent: None <br /> <br />Staff Present: City Secretary Martha Gillett and Police Chief Richard Reff. <br /> <br />Others Present: None <br /> <br />2. The November 14,2006 minutes were approved. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilmember Engelken to approve the minutes as presented. <br />Second by Councilmember Ebow. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Ayes: Mayor Porter, Chuck Engelken, Tommy Moser and Howard Ebow. <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br /> <br />3. DISCUSS RECRUITMENT PROCESS AND TIME TABLE FOR SELECTION OF A <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />The Committee discussed the following items: <br /> <br />Police Chief Richard Reff was directed by the committee to conduct background and <br />financial investigations on the top three (3) applicants. <br /> <br />The next committee meeting is tentatively scheduled to be held on Thursday, November 30, <br />2006, in the Council Conference Room at 5:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The committee directed staff to send no thank you letters to all applicants not selected for <br />background investigation. <br /> <br />The committee directed the City Secretary to conduct education background checks on the <br />top three (3) applicants. <br /> <br />4. DISCUSS INTERVIEW PROCESS <br /> <br />The committee will review the background investigation results and determine who will be <br />interviewed at that point. <br />
