<br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Government sub-committee - Assists in all activities between the Census Bureau and the <br />local government, i.e., Local Update of Census Addresses(LUCA), identifying free space for <br />Ouestionnaire Assistance Centers (OAC) and Be Counted Centers, and identifying special <br />housing, group quarters, and places for people without housing. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Education sub-committee - Facilitates a Census program for local schools from pre- <br />kindergarten through 12th grade, as well as postsecondary education institutions in the area. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Relil!ious sub-committee - Creates and coordinates activities and materials that can be used <br />by any local religious institution in the promotion of Census 2000 awareness and <br />participation. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Media sub-committee - Creates and facilitates ways to get the Census message to all <br />community residents, utilizing all available sources such as, local newspapers, newsletters, <br />flyers, billboards, local festivals, radio and television. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Communitv-based oT1!anizations sub-committee - Coalesces with sommunity organizations <br />to inform residents of the benefits derived from Census data. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Business sub-committee - Creates and coordinates activities that involve business in Census <br />awareness such as, distribution of Census <br />information, Census messages on packaging (grocery bags), and the inclusion of the Census <br />logo and message on sales promotion materials. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Recruitin2 sub-committee - Receives information from the Partnership Specialist about <br />Census job openings in local areas and disseminates this information to all segments of the <br />community. Information will include the number of jobs available, type of jobs available, <br />and the locations of testing and training sites. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Special Housin2 sub-committee - Compiles a list of non-conventional housing facilities <br />and locations such as, nursing homes, jails, dormitories, soup kitchens, places for people <br />without housing, shelters, missions, and group quarters. <br /> <br />16 <br />
