<br />[] Press Conference - We do not think it necessary to facilitate a Press ~ ~_;`~=A.
<br />Conference for the LaPorte Community. This decision is based on the fact that
<br />the Census- 2000 is a nationwide campaign, and we can not expect the television ~ ~~~
<br />and print media to cover such nn event specifically for LaPorte. We will prepare ~~~
<br />a -"media package" for the Bayshore Sun Newspaper, which. will involve providing
<br />them with articles for publication from January through April of 2000. ` 'F `~ F'

<br />[] Local Mailing List - We will compile a mailing list, with contact person, for all ~~°"
<br />area.churches, business and industry, homeowners associations, schools, ;u
<br />municipalities, youth sports associations and civic clubs and organizations. This `'-~~~
<br />"list"::.will be mailed all news releases generated by our committee, in hope that ; :~ ;
<br />they will include them in all newsletters, bulletins and flyers they generate for
<br />distribution to their membership. I believe that the Chamber of Commerce has ~~

<br />compiled a significant number of these contacts. I would hope that City stuff ~~,
<br />~.,~
<br />could generate the mailing labels, and provide the envelopes and pay for the x rr y:
<br />postage that this project will demand. ~ ~
